If you have been around for a while, you know that I love Hawaii. When we want to go on a relaxing vacation, Hawaii is typically the answer. We went to Kona, Hawaii in December and we have been itching to get back ever since. This time, we went to celebrate Alex’s birthday and take some R&R time just the two of us. We stayed at the same resorts as last time because we are so comfortable here and they are in the perfect location for us to get around and do exactly what we came for. Good food, good beaches and fun activities.
Our Kona, Hawaii Itinerary
Where We Stayed – We stayed a couple days at Mauna Lani and the rest of the time at Mauna Kea. We have stayed here before and couldn’t wait to come back.
Mauna Lani (Kona, Big Island) – amazing pools and was so relaxing
Mauna Kea (Kona, Big Island) – the best beach and the property has a lot of activities like tennis and pickleball courts
Where We Ate – There is nothing like fresh Hawaiian food, I can’t get enough of the delicious coffee, acai bowls and all of the views at dinner.
We had a lot of meal at the Mauna Lani Resort – both for breakfast and dinner. The resorts standard for food is top notch so everything is really good. Maunta and Meridia are our favorites. Maunta is one of our favorites, especially for the views.
Waimea Coffee Company – we love their coffee and always go multiple times. We also loved their acai bowls.
Miller and Lux Steak House at the Four Seasons – this is Tyler Florence’s restaurant at the Four Seasons and had amazing, high-quality food.
Good Eats Food Truck – our favorite Hawaiian plates.
Kona Village Resort – this is a newer spot and the property is gorgeous and has excellent food.
What We Did – of course there is a lot of relaxing happening in Hawaii but there is also amazing sightseeing and activities to do all over the island.
Mauna Lani and Mauna Kea – we enjoyed the pools, tennis and pickleball.
Waipio Lookout – we visited and its the best lookout point for the greenery and endless ocean views.
Kona Village Resort – we did some exploring here, this resort is brand new and wanted to see what it was all about. We definitely want to look into staying here next time.
