Another trip to Napa and I feel like I have truly found our favorite spots to visit. Stanly Ranch is a place that I can’t recommend enough times, over and over. We have stayed here numerous times and even when we come to Napa and don’t end up staying there, we at least go to the Spa or eat at some of their restaurants. This trip we ate at Bear, which is located within Stanly Ranch. Bear serves every meal, including brunch and I have never had something I wouldn’t order again.

Of course, we visited a good amount of wineries during this summer visit. We tried some new ones and some others that we have been to before. Our favorite is to find ones with great wine (a given) and a great view, which really adds to the experience.

Some of our favorites:

  • Far Niente – the atmosphere here is magical. There are gorgeous gardens and wine caves; this spot is definitely one of our favorites.
  • Caymus – beautiful landscape and great, consistent wine options.
  • Amizetta – lovely estate with views.
  • Round Pond Estate – gives tropical vibes but is nestled in wine country. They also offer wine-paired 4-course dinners.
  • Pride Mountain Vineyard – a bit more of a drive, but definitely worth it. Family owned and operated so it was a more intimate experience and the cave tour was great.

A big priority for me is finding fun restaurants to try. As I mentioned before, we love eating at Bear at Stanly Ranch. But, here are some of the other spots we tried out.

  • Bear – a classic favorite.
  • Solbar – located at Solage, which is another Auberge resort like Stanly Ranch. Offer outdoor seating which is always a must in Napa.
  • Angele – located in Downtown Napa and offers unique French cuisine. Pasta is made in-house.
  • The Charter Oak Restaurant – family-style dining with classic dishes and a lot of the ingredients come from the restaurant’s local farm.
  • Restoration Hardware – my favorite RH location. We went here to celebrate my mom’s birthday and they made it a great experience.
  • Pride Mountain Vineyard – as mentioned before, worth the drive up. Get a car service instead of an Uber because it is far up the mountain and most won’t make the return trip.
  • Bistro Don Giovanni – great main courses, pastas and appetizers. Their cocktails are awesome too which is a nice switch up from so much wine!
