Cabo/ Todos Santos  Trip

If you have followed me for awhile, you know my true love for Cabo. But, if you’re new here, you’re about to find out. My husband and I just took a 5 day trip down to Cabo and Todos Santos and I had to share all of the details of our vacation.

Day 1 – Our Arrival

Stay: For our first night, we stayed at Casa Natalia, a boutique hotel in the heart of San Jose del Cabo. We wanted to stay there for one night to get the full downtown experience instead of the resort stay that we typically enjoy while visiting. Since our trip, one question I have gotten is “Is it safe?” My answer is YES. We felt very safe and of course like anywhere in Mexico, we didn’t stay out super late to find ourselves in any trouble either. I would definitely recommend staying here to get a new experience in Cabo.

Dinner: One of my favorite dinner’s of the trip was our first night at Flora Farms. I highly recommend going here for the atmosphere and the farm-to-table food & drinks. The proper and live music was fantastic. Planning tip: make reservations pretty far in advance, they book up quickly.

Day 2

Breakfast: We started our second day with breakfast and coffee from PEZGALLO Coffee. The atmosphere was trendy and cute. I ordered the green juice and it was extremely refreshing after the cocktails that I enjoyed the night before. My husband got the cold brew tonic and it was something new and different. In our opinion, you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu!

Our Next Stop: Todos Santos

After breakfast, we packed up and headed to our next destination, Todos Santos. Todos Santos is an hour drive from San Jose Cabo so, we rented a Jeep to make the drive out there.

Lunch: Prior to our arrival at our hotel in Todos Santos, we stopped for lunch at Barracuda Cantina. It was featured on the Taco Chronicles Season 2 on Netflix. And let me tell you, it lived up to the hype. We ordered a burrito, which was our favorite, and we also enjoyed the tacos and quesadillas. Their specialty cocktails were unique and we would definitely order them again.

Stay: Paradero Hotel

Where do I even begin? I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. Everything from the rooms, staff, food, pool and designs were perfection. We stayed in the Garden Suite Soaking Tub room which featured an immaculate outdoor patio with a large soaking tub. We stayed here 3 nights, which obviously wasn’t enough and I am already dreaming about our next visit.

Day 3

Out on the Town:

We decided to go explore the town of Todos Santos. We enjoyed the beautiful day by walking around and shopping. We stopped to eat at Oystera for lunch which is a MUST. We got a bottle of champagne and all shared oysters, clams, and calamari. You must try the Tuna Tostada. They have live music at different times and the property itself was gorgeous.

Day 4

Catamaran Tour:

Paradero Hotel comes with a lot of different experiences you can choose from such as yoga, hiking, biking to the beach, massages, gardening, etc. We chose the catamaran tour off the coast of La Paz. It was a day trip starting at 9:00 AM and went until 5:00 PM. At the beginning of the day, the hotel sent us a car that took us an hour from the hotel to the marina to start our sail. We were fed an amazing breakfast, lunch, and dinner with lots of specialty cocktails paired with each. We snorkeled while the staff set up a beach picnic with ceviche, oysters, and more. There was a beautiful beach where we hung out for awhile prior to heading back to the boat to cruise to the marina. If you are going to Todos Santos, this is definitely something to put on your list. We are planning another boat day with Paradero in February, 2023.

Day 5

Unfortunately, our stay at Paradero came to an end and our friends were headed back home. But, in true Ashlan fashion, I extended our trip for three more days.

Stay: Nobu Hotel

I booked my husband and I a three night stay at the Nobu hotel. This resort was stunning. Neither my husband or I had ever been to this side of Cabo before and we wanted to check it out. But, we quickly learned that this side may not be for us. The weather was windy and chilly. We even askeed the employees if this was normal and they confirmed that this part of Cabo can have unpredictable weather.

Something to check on if you are interested in staying in this part of Cabo. That being said, the resort wasn’t crowded which was great, and the restaurants on property were incredible. It was our first time trying the Nobu restaurant as well and it did not disappoint. If you love going to all the Nobu restaurants or have never been, this would be a great location to try. The rooms and the service here were definitely worth mentioning as well. Just check the weather before going and don’t be unprepared like we were!
